Anim sur le Lac Festival is an annual animation film festival, which will hold its first edition on August 8 and 9, 2025, in Saint-Félicien, Lac-Saint-Jean.

The Anim sur le Lac Festival aims to promote and showcase animation cinema in all its forms. The festival offers a program of short films and special activities, such as workshops, conferences, and off-festival screenings of short and feature films. Anim sur le Lac seeks to create a sense of belonging among the local community, inspire a new generation of regional talent, provide networking spaces for professionals, and encourage the creation of animated film projects.

Festival Weekend Highlights

  • Six screening sessions;
  • A retrospective featuring filmmaker Patrick Bouchard, director of six animated films with the NFB, winner of numerous major awards, and selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023;
  • A “Carte Blanche” session presented by the Regard Festival (one of North America’s leading short film festivals);
  • A screening dedicated to young audiences;
  • A Stop Motion workshop led by Érik Goulet, a renowned specialist in this animation technique;
  • Several film industry professionals attending the event;
  • An Audience Award for the best film.

Boran Richard

Co-founder, General Director, Co-Artistic Director

Boran holds a master’s degree in animation cinema from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and has worked in the film industry since 2000, specializing in traditional animation. Since 2013, he has been teaching cinema at Cégep de St-Félicien, where he shares his passion for animation.

Rosalie Guay

Co-founder, Communications Manager, Co-Artistic Director

Rosalie is a graduate in cinema from the Interdisciplinary Arts Bachelor’s program at UQAC. Her academic work has stood out in student competitions across Québec. She began her training in animation cinema during her college studies at Cégep de St-Félicien in the Arts, Literature, and Communication program.

Mélanie Saint-Germain

Graphic Designer, Logo Creator, and Website Designer

Mélanie Saint-Germain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts with a concentration in Cinema from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. A multidisciplinary artist, animation cinema is her medium of choice. Her film Elles and her web series Bon… have won awards and been showcased at dozens of festivals worldwide. Mélanie began her training in animation cinema during her college studies at Cégep de St-Félicien, in the Arts, Literature, and Communication program.

Hugo Catellier

Website Development

Hugo is a computer programmer with over 25 years of experience. In recent years, he has primarily worked as a project manager and production director for various companies in the digital sector, including cloud computing development, websites, video games, museum exhibitions, artist centers, Université Laval, and Université de Montréal.
