Anim sur le Lac is an annual animation film festival, which will hold its second edition on August 6, 7, 8, and 9 2026, in Saint-Félicien, Lac-Saint-Jean.

Anim sur le Lac is Quebec’s only international animated film festival. The second edition will take place from August 6 to 9, 2026, in Saint-Félicien. In addition to bringing together several professionals from the industry, the event aims above all to be a high-quality cultural offering that is accessible to the local population. The festival offers a diverse program covering all film genres: from comedy to documentary to drama, these films offer unique and fascinating visual worlds. During this cultural gathering focused on conviviality and the cinematic experience, festival-goers have access to workshops, conferences, parties, and meetings with filmmakers.

In addition, Anim sur le Lac offers activities throughout the year, such as a day camp and screenings outside the festival. Anim sur le Lac aims to create a sense of belonging among local people, stimulate regional talent, provide meeting spaces for professionals, and encourage the creation of animated film projects.

Boran Richard

Co-founder, General Director, Co-Artistic Director

Boran holds a master’s degree in animation cinema from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and has worked in the film industry since 2000, specializing in traditional animation. Since 2013, he has been teaching cinema at Cégep de St-Félicien, where he shares his passion for animation.

Rosalie Guay

Co-founder, Communications Manager, Co-Artistic Director

Rosalie is a graduate in cinema from the Interdisciplinary Arts Bachelor’s program at UQAC. Her academic work has stood out in student competitions across Québec. She began her training in animation cinema during her college studies at Cégep de St-Félicien in the Arts, Literature, and Communication program.

Mélanie Saint-Germain

Mélanie Saint-Germain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Arts with a concentration in Cinema from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. A multidisciplinary artist, animation cinema is her medium of choice. Her film Elles and her web series Bon… have won awards and been showcased at dozens of festivals worldwide. Mélanie began her training in animation cinema during her college studies at Cégep de St-Félicien, in the Arts, Literature, and Communication program.

Hugo Catellier

Website Development

Hugo is a computer programmer with over 25 years of experience. In recent years, he has primarily worked as a project manager and production director for various companies in the digital sector, including cloud computing development, websites, video games, museum exhibitions, artist centers, Université Laval, and Université de Montréal.

Maude-Lanui Baillargeon

Web Administrator

Maude-Lanui is a master’s student in literary studies at the Université Laval and holds a bachelor’s degree in literary studies and practices. Her thesis project addresses contemporary women’s poetry in Quebec from a transcultural perspective that draws on feminist and Indigenous theories. A member of the First Nations Book Fair team since 2023, research assistant for the Maurice-Lemire Teaching Leadership Chair in Indigenous Literatures in Quebec from 2023 to 2025, and co-organizer of the Conference on Anti-Colonial Solidarity: Navigating Literary Coresistance (2025), Maude-Lanui is originally from Saint-Félicien.

Alice Gagnon

Social Media Management

Alice has a degree in Arts, Literature, and Communication from Cégep de Saint-Félicien and is currently studying for a BIA at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. She has always been interested in cinema, and this interest became a real passion during her studies. Thanks to one of her films made at Cégep de St-Félicien, Une miette à la fois…, she and her team participated in several festivals and won the grand prize for best short film at De l’âme à l’écran 2025. She also has experience with social media, as she is a content creator for the UQAC Musical.
