Awards Ceremony

On August 10, 2025, the Anim sur le Lac festival, in collaboration with its partners and the jury, awarded 5 prizes and 3 honorable mentions totaling $7,250. The jury consisted of Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre, Patrice Michaud, and Raquel Sancinetti.

Award for Best Picture

The Award for Best Picture, worth $2,000 and presented by the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, goes to “Como si la tierra se las hubiera tragado” (As If the Earth Had Swallowed Them) (France) by Natalia Leon.

Honorable Mention for Best Picture

An honorable mention was awarded to the film “Linnud läinud” (Estonia/Lithuania) by Anu-Laura Tuttelberg.

Award for Best Quebec Film

The Award for Best Quebec Film, worth $1,000 in services and presented by La Bande Sonimage, has been awarded to “Les fleurs sauvages” (Quebec) by Rodolphe Saint-Gelais and Thierry Sirois.

Honorable Mention for Best Quebec Film

An honorable mention was awarded to the film “Le grand party annuel des créatures de la Lune” (Quebec) by Francis Desharnais.

Award for Best Student Film

The Award for Best Student Film, worth $1,000 and presented by the Université Laval, goes to “The Eating of an Orange” (United Kingdom) by May Kindred-Boothby.

Honorable Mention for Best Student Film

An honorable mention was awarded to the film “Plevel” (Czech Republic) by Pola Kazak.

Audience Choice Award

The $1,000 Audience Choice Award, presented by the Saguenay Film Commission, has been awarded to “Les fleurs sauvages” (Quebec) by Rodolphe Saint-Gelais and Thierry Sirois.
